About me
Counselling offers an opportunity to talk to someone about any difficulties you are faced with, work through problems, find solutions and help people to improve their lives, by gaining a better understanding of their thoughts and feelings.
I am a qualified counsellor with many years of experience, also a supervisor. I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and practice in accordance with their Ethics, Standards and Guidelines, attending regular Supervision and continued professional development.
My approach to counselling is to work in an Integrative way, which means I can be flexible, by using a range of approaches and theories to assist and support people to achieve a greater self-awareness, and make sense of what is happening in their lives, and find more effective ways to overcome difficulties and obstacles which may be causing anxiety and stress thereby preventing them achieving a more fulfilling way of living.
I have experience of supporting clients from the LGBTQ+ community through the challenges of life transitions. Also, the parents during this time of adjustment.
I am experienced in working with clients who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Also, struggling with changes to individuals lives.
I have worked with survivors of Sexual Abuse and Domestic Abuse. I offer a safe place where people can disclose their experiences and be supported without fear of being judged.
I worked in education for many years and understand the challenges faced by teachers in an ever-changing educational setting.
I am committed to providing a quality professional service in a confidential environment where people can experience warmth and empathy, and an opportunity to understand more about their thoughts and emotions in a safe space where all diversity is respected.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
