I am now accepting some Face to Face clients in addition to working by Skype & Telephone. I have a Covid-19 Statement available by email and open to discussion.
Hello, I am Person-centred counsellor and Supervisor, Registered & Accredited with BACP.
Well done on making the most difficult first step in accessing counselling.
As an experienced counsellor, I am committed to helping you resolve your issues, whatever they may be.
I work from home, which is in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Southport, on the border of Lancashire.
I offer a warm,safe & private environment.You will be welcomed,listened to, supported & accepted without judgement.
Over the last 17 years I have gained a wide range of experience by working in private practice, the voluntary sector and by doing workplace assisted counselling for various agencies. This includes employment by Lancashire county council and 4 years counselling for Macmillan cancer support.
I work with adults and young people on a one to one basis as well as providing family therapy and couples counselling.
I truly believe that counselling can impact greatly on our lives and can help us with what may seem to be insurmountable problems. I have many times experienced the power of counselling both as counsellor and client in the therapeutic relationship and believe wholeheartedly in its ability to bring about change and achieve desired outcomes.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
