If this is the first time you have considered counselling deciding where to go is probably a daunting step. You may not be very sure at this stage what you want from counselling but just know that you need help dealing with issues that are causing you distress. Counselling can help. Having someone to talk to in a secure environment, being met with empathy and understanding without fear of being judged, can help you to work through your issues and come to terms with the distress in a way that is right for you.
My name is Pat and my aim is to provide that environment. I am a qualified registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I qualified as a counsellor after I retired and have since worked in the voluntary sector. I adhere to the BACP code of ethics and continue to update my skills, having just completed a Foundation Degree in counselling. My life experiences have been varied but coming into counselling later in life has shown me greater understanding of those experiences. I am a mother of four and grandmother of 11 children with all that entails.
My practice is private, quiet and pleasant at my home in Penhill, Fremington and there is plenty of parking.
if you feel I am the right counsellor for you please give me a call with any questions you may have. I offer a first free 30 minute session so that you can decide if we can work together and if counselling is right for you.
