Park Lane Therapy - Sarah Mortimer
Park Lane Therapy is a local, independent counselling service, founded and run by myself, Sarah Mortimer, a qualified and registered Therapist. I specialise in working with adults (aged 16 and above) experiencing anxiety; low mood and depression; and attachment/relationship issues.
I provide an easy to access, safe and confidential service in Poulton-le-Fylde, which also serves the surrounding areas of Blackpool and the Fylde Coast, Lancashire. I also offer Skype and telephone counselling services for those clients further afield.
I primarily offer person centred counselling, a talking therapy based on the assumption that clients should have a non judgmental, accepting relationship with the therapist. Person centred counselling appeals to many, as it is client led, and enables you to develop the inner resource to address negative patterns of thinking, and to bring about growth and change. It can be very effective in treating the psychological problems named above.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an Advanced Diploma and Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and am currently completing a Masters Degree in Psychology. With a focus on the person centred approach, I have worked as a Therapist in a number of third sector organisations, as well as NHS settings.
I am committed to ongoing training and personal development, as well as regular attendance at research and practice conferences. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and a student member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Anyone who is willing to accept help to look at themselves and explore their issues honestly and attentively can benefit from counselling. If you haven't accessed or experienced counselling before, the following link provides some useful information: https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/we-can-help/
Please also feel free to get in touch should you wish to explore therapy further. I understand that the variety of counsellors and types of therapy can feel vast and confusing, so I am more than happy to discuss counselling and what it is I offer over the telephone, or via email, before you make your decision on whether to proceed with an initial assessment with me, or access therapy elsewhere.
Whatever it is you're going through, I hope you manage to access the right help you need at this time.
