About me

I am an Italian and English speaking Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist. I have more than 10 years of experience in working with individuals and couples struggling with various difficult life situations or suffering from different kinds of mental health issues (anxiety, depression, relational issues, eating disorders, personality disorders, etc.).

I have an extensive experience in online psychotherapy & counselling. Therefore, I am happy to offer sessions on Zoom, Skype or Cliniko, both in Italian and in English.

In the last few years, I have developed a strong interest in Anxiety, especially generalized anxiety disorder, and in Chronic Pain Management. To treat those issues, I provide an integrative therapeutic approach where psycho-educational interventions, mindfulness-based activities and individual psychotherapy are blended in order to help clients cope efficiently with those conditions and lead a fulfilling life.

As an Italian-born expat, I also enjoy working with Italians who are looking for a psychotherapist with whom they can speak their native language and share a common culturale background.

I offer short-term as well as long-term counselling and psychotherapy both in English and in Italian, considering that I am an Italian native speaker. Even though short-term counselling is my favourite way to work with clients, it might not be the right approach for everyone. For this reason, the number of sessions will be agreed together with the client, depending on client's needs and goals.

Do not hesitate to contact me for further information.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

UKCP

UK Council for Psychotherapy

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

HCPC

Health and Care Professions Council

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information

I consider Psychosynthesis to be the reference model for my clinical work.

Psychosynthesis is a therapeutic approach developed by the Italian psychiatrist Roberto Assagioli at the beginning of the twentieth century. It states that every person has the power to manifest their own growth potential and that their life journey tends towards the actualization of their true self (self-actualization). Furthermore, psychosynthesis holistically takes into consideration all the different dimensions composing each and every human being: the cognitive dimension (thoughts), the emotional dimension (emotions), the bodily dimension (the body) and the transpersonal dimension (what is beyond one’s personal and social identity, including spirituality).

Considering that Psychosynthesis is a therapeutic approach which is well suited to integrate techniques coming from other forms of therapy, I make use of other evidence-based clinical approaches:

  • CBT Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Person-Centred Therapy
  • Mindfulness-based activities
  • Focusing-oriented psychotherapy
  • Solution-focused brief psychotherapy
