Pamela Winter MBACP Snr. Accred.
About me
I am an accredited counsellor with 25 years experience working with people dealing with a range of issues. I offer short and long term work for people seeking help with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, and trauma. My aim is to offer a supportive, safe and empathic relationship in which you can move towards living and working in more satisfying and resourceful ways and with greater well being and confidence. My approach is based on emotion focused humanistic therapy and I find this way of working particularly helpful in working with depression and anxiety. Additionally I have trained in and developed the use of Expressive and Reflective Writing to support clients in their therapy, if appropriate. See my website for further information.
I am also available for supervision of counsellors and offer Executive Coaching for staff development-again, see my website.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma in Counselling,(Person Centred) and since my original training have also completed a Diploma in Embodied Relational Therapy and Post Graduate Certificate in Working with Couples.
I have also trained in Emotion Focused Therapy at the University of Strathclyde.
I am a certified Applied Poetry Therapy Facilitator with the IFBPT
I have worked with clients in my Private Practice for 30 years, both long and short term and managed a staff counselling service for a local authority for several years.
I see clients from a range of referral sources including Employee Assistance Programmes, GPs and self referrals. I have been a tutor of various counselling training courses in the North West, including Liverpool John Moores University, Salford University and on the MA in counselling at Manchester University.
I have an Advanced Certificate in Counselling Supervision and an ongoing supervision practice.
Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
