Pamela Wilson: MSc, BHSc, Diploma in Counselling. Member BACP & HCPC
I am a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor with substantial experience of counselling adults and young people, having worked in health settings and voluntary organisations for over twenty years. I hold a Masters in Psychoanalytic Observation and Reflective Practice, a Diploma in Counselling and a Certificate in Counselling. I am currently employed part-time within NHS Mental Health Services, am a tutor on the Foundations of Human Relations and Counselling course with Human Development Scotland, Glasgow and run a small private counselling practice.
My varied experience means that I am able to take an integrative approach to my work and that I have a solid understanding of the impact of a wide range of issues such as trauma, adverse childhood experiences and attachment/relationship difficulties on individual development. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
If you are reading this information, then I suspect you (or someone you care about) are experiencing emotional difficulties, pain and or inner turmoil. You may be considering counselling as a way of moving forward. If this is the case, I can assure you of a confidential, quiet and reflective space where you can tell your story and begin to explore and make sense of your thoughts and feelings, so that you feel less overwhelmed and more content with yourself, your life and your relationships. If you decide to work with myself, I will do my best to ensure a secure and trusting relationship so that you feel safe to explore personal and often intimate matters.
I understand that making the initial steps towards counselling can be an uncertain and anxiety provoking experience and may be accompanied by a fear of exposure. Consequently, I am always happy to have an initial, no obligation discussion over the telephone, so that you can decide if counselling is right for you.
