About me
I offer a safe, kind and confidential space for you to bring any issues adversely affecting your mental health. I aim to help you process your thoughts and feelings and explore goals to move forward with resilience to face whatever challenges and joys that lie ahead of you.
I passionately care about healthy relationships and so I love to work with couples to bring hope, healing and renewed love to challenging, often emotionally disconnected relationships. I draw largely on the Emotional Focused Therapy of Sue Johnson and include insights and tools from Harville Hendrix and John Gottman.
I offer Clinical Supervision to students and experienced counsellors.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Diploma in Integrative Counselling 2013-15 COSCA validated
- Certificate in Couples Counselling 2016 COSCA validated
- Certificate in Young Peoples Counselling 2017
- Certificate in Clinical Supervision 2020
- Upgraded to Diploma in Clinical Supervision 2022
- B.Ed Honours in Physical Education 1983
I have ten years counselling experience of working with adults, couples and young people. My experience is a mixture of working within the volunteer sector, private practice and three years as a school counsellor.
I work integratively combining person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and solution-focused approaches.
I can include a Christian perspective in counselling and supervision to those who find that helpful and relevant.
I currently offer online supervision to numerous students and some experienced counsellors.
I am a retired teacher with 26 years of teaching Physical education to children and young people between 4 years and 18 years. This experience of young people informs my counselling.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
