P. Elaine Burberry
My name is Elaine and I have always been interested in people and their stories. I work with both with couples and individuals.
Emotional issues can feel complicated, contradictory, and hard to cope with. Could talking to someone help?
You may right now feel confused, anxious, afraid, angry, or perhaps depressed, emotional and/or alone and not know what to do. There may be issues in your relationship that feel impossible at the moment. Has one person in your relationship had an affair, do you have difficulty in understanding each other or reaching agreement, perhaps you struggle with trust?
I am trained as a Gestalt Therapist and Couples/Relationship Counsellor and have been working with both couples and individuals since 2010.
I welcome people with diverse histories, experiences and identities, including those from minority groups.
When working with relationships, I aim to create a safe space where respect is valued and each person can speak and be heard. Working at your pace, my intention is for you to understand more about your relationship and the underlying issues. We may need to work on improving communication. As your understanding of the relationship and the issues grow, you may find a better way to relate.
With individuals, my intention is to create a safe space for you to speak and be heard. I will work holistically with you and at your pace, looking at the underlying issues. You may experience healing through our therapeutic relationship and I aim to respect your experiences and understandings.
Gestalt Therapy is a holistic, compassionate way of learning to get to know yourself, your thoughts and your feelings which may, right now, feel complicated, contradictory, muddled, uncomfortable and possibly overwhelming.
