About me

My name is Elaine. I work with both with couples and individuals and have always been interested in people and their stories. You may feel confused, depressed or anxious and not know what to do. There may be issues in your relationship that feel impossible right now, perhaps you have difficulties in communicating. Perhaps one partner feels betrayed or has had an affair.

Emotional issues can be so hard to cope with alone. Could talking to someone help?

When working with people struggling with relationships, I like to understand whats happening in the relationship and what impact this is having on both the individuals and the relationship. Whilst engaging with your experiences and what is and isn't working, I aim to create a safe space where respect is valued and each person can speak and be heard. My intention is for you to understand more about the issues, how you interact with each other and together. As you start to know more, things can become clearer. Clarity offers more possibility. Possibility creates more choices – you could choose to continue on as you are, or choose to experiment with something different.

With individuals, my aim is similar – to create a safe space for you to speak, be heard. As we work together, I will be curious about what's distressing you and what affect this is having on you. My intention is for you to find a clearer understanding of yourself, what's happening, how this is impacting on you, then looking at whether there are other choices that would suit you better.

I am trained as a Gestalt Therapist and a Relationship Counsellor and have been working with couples and individuals since 2010.

Gestalt Therapy is a compassionate way of learning to get to know yourself, your thoughts and your feelings, which may, right now, feel complicated, contradictory, muddled, uncomfortable and possibly overwhelming.
