About me
Hi there, I'm a qualified, BACP registered psychotherapist. I provide a welcoming, calm and safe space to help you to feel comfortable and reassured when opening up. I will work compassionately with a non-judgemental attitude, helping you to unpick your thoughts and feelings. It is a safe space for you, as I won't judge you and I will respect your confidentiality.
I have over 5 years of experience supporting people (and their loved ones) affected by illness or various health challenges. Maybe you are a carer, or a loved one is experiencing challenging times? Previously, I used to be a corporate lawyer but left after experiencing illness myself. Counselling greatly helped me to have a more positive outlook. The insight gained from this experience has given me greater empathy for the many different challenges faced by people. I will work with you compassionately to help you to explore your ideal self. I work for a national organisation working in mental health. My employer has responsibility for my continuous training and development.
My work has provided me with fantastic training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am also trained in coaching others using the GROW model. I use these tools to provide a holistic approach to my work. Once we have unpacked the underlying trauma or events which are troubling you, then we can discuss steps which you can take to move forward in order to live a more fulfilling life.
I believe that you are unique. You have a unique story. I am a warm, and caring person by nature, and a qualified counsellor who will work with you in a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental manner. I have worked with a range of issues. Some common issues are domestic abuse as well as low self-esteem and anxiety related issues. I will explore your feelings empathically, and help you to improve your self esteem and confidence. I am committed to supporting you in whichever direction you see fit. I believe in the autonomy of every person- As only you know the direction which you would like to be heading towards. I will work with you to help you to process your thoughts and feelings.
Some of the issues I work with
I have experience working with women and men around problems such as domestic abuse, depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I have worked with people (or their loved ones) affected by health challenges. I understand some of the secondary issues that this could cause. I am also experienced with work related stresses and how these could impact upon ones mental health.
I can help support you through fear, anger, anxiety, & stress. Perhaps these are contributing to your low self esteem, or they may be harming your relationships with colleagues, friends or family members? Maybe you are a carer for a loved one who is projecting their fears, anxiety, & stresses on to you? Perhaps you have family issues and feel that you have nobody to share with? Or you have reached a crossroads point in your life and are unable to see your way forward? Or maybe you are grieving the loss of something or someone?
How sessions can benefit you
Speaking to a qualified counsellor will allow you to process your thoughts and feelings. Often we can't share with our friends or loved ones because we don't want them to feel our pain. Speaking to a qualified counsellor whom you have no ties with, can be easier as you can fully express yourself. I won't judge you, and you won't need to worry about how it is making me feel. (I'm trained to listen to a range of issues.)

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
