About me
Welcome! I have 14 years of experience helping people with stress, anxiety, low mood, and low self-esteem. My style of counselling is highly collaborative, compassionate and engaged. As a person, I am down-to-earth, sensitive and good-humoured. I’ve worked in universities (counselling academic and professional staff, as well as students), the NHS, charities and private practice.
People coming to me for counselling often experience their difficulties in a variety of ways: people pleasing, overthinking and worry, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, overwhelm, lack of motivation, self-criticism, fearing uncertainty and loss of control, rejection/criticism sensitivity, stuck-ness, feeling lost, and burnout to name a few. Underlying these issues are usually two basic beliefs: “I’m not good enough” and/or “I’m not safe/the world isn’t safe”.
My approach to counselling is very open and exploratory. Learning which parts of ourselves and our lives need to be accepted and which can actively be changed is a key component of both healing and growth.
Together we might seek to:
- Understand origins of issues
- Reframe issues to create a more flexible and healthy mindset
- Learn how to be with our difficult emotions
- Develop a compassionate and supportive inner voice
- Explore the mind-body connection to become more attuned to our whole selves
My aim is to support you to find the way forward that works for you, at the pace that is right for you, increasing your sense of authenticity and agency.
Please feel free to email me if you’d like to explore working together or have any further questions.
I strive to be open-minded, socially and culturally aware and am LBGTQ+ friendly.
