Sometimes life experiences can leave us feeling lost and confused, testing our understanding of our own identity, our relationships, choices and other aspects of our life. We may feel overwhelmed by painful feelings and unbearable anxiety. Or we would like to lead a more creative life but feel held back by obligations and fear of changing what is familiar.
When you seek counselling, you are making a significant decision to give yourself some time to reflect on your life and explore how you relate to the world around you and the people you are involved. This is a time just for you each week, to be really listened to in a warm, supportive and non-judgmental environment.
Therapy can be challenging but can also be rewarding. At the heart of my practice is a prizing of the individual, an acceptance of and respect for the path that is right for you. Everybody goes through difficulties in life and my aim is for us to work together to explore and alleviate any issues which are causing you difficulty and preventing you from moving forward. I am committed to nurturing change and will endeavour to be as real and open as I can, whilst also bringing the knowledge and skills from my training and experience, to provide insight and alternative ways of approaching the issues you bring.
My work, training and personal experience has shown me that people grow through supportive and caring relationships and that the healing of deep wounds is possible.
Deciding to make an appointment and taking those first steps into counselling can seem daunting. Even if you are not ready to book an appointment, are feeling apprehensive or just want some information, feel free to get in touch either via email, phone or text and we can talk about how counselling could work for you.
