About me

Welcome to my page.

About Me
My name is Dr Oby. I am a medical doctor, Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Counselling Supervisor. I currently work in both NHS and my private practice. I have over sixteen years of working experience in complex mental health case. I also have experience in relationship counselling where I have helped many couples resolve their relationship problems.

My Counselling Model
Recognising that everyone is uniquely different and our problems are often peculiar to our situation and circumstance, I endeavour to tailor my counselling skills to your needs. This means that you do not need to deal with your challenges like anyone else.

Generally, I work as an integrative practitioner and so I blend CBT, Psychodynamic and Person Centred approaches in my work with my clients. I utilise CBT skills to help you find solutions to specific problems that you may have. There are also occasions where I may draw from the Psychodynamic skills to help you identify patterns in your life that have hindered your progress. I utilise the Person Centred skills to help you reinforce your sense of self and personal confidence

My counselling sessions

My sessions are usually 50minutes/week. if you require more than one session a week, it can be negotiated.

In each session, you are free to work at your own pace and to bring whatever is pressing to you. I aim to provide you with the professional guidance and support as you explore your life situations and challenges.

We will have a review session every six weeks to enable us to look at the progress you have made and the possible areas you may wish to work on. It will also allow us to discuss possibilities of ending the sessions if that is appropriate.

Fees are paid on or before the counselling session.

........ Block booking of sessions is also available and discounts are offered when you pay for six sessions at once ((This does not applies to the already-discounted student's rate).

........Students can, however, make enquiries for our other student's promotional offers

My areas of speciality:

In addition to general counselling, my main areas of counselling speciality are:
