About me

Hello, my name is Nyasha. I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and a self development coach who is based in the Leeds area. I am passionate about empowering people to become the best version of who they aspire to be. I aim to do this by providing a safe, contained, non clinical private practice that welcomes individuals to bring their "whole" self. In particular, the different parts of themselves that they may otherwise shy away from on a day to day basis.

What I can offer you

I offer a supportive therapeutic consulting space with a primary goal of getting to know you. Together we will create a safe space so that you can bring your true self to the therapy room. I will listen both to the spoken and unspoken, I will be empathic and I will be supportive. I will encourage you to use our time together in whichever way that best serves you. The primary focus is to make space for you to get your needs met. My approach is very much relational, you and I.

How long will we work for:

As a psychotherapist I can do both long and short term work. The duration of the length of time we schedule to work for is entirely up to you. Therapeutic sessions tend to be once weekly.

For my coaching clients, programs are custom made.

What sort of issues can we work on:

We can work on a wide range of issues such as day to day struggles that maybe around relationships with your self, relationships with family members, relationships at work and relationships with partners.

If you have a specific time limited goal then my coaching packages may be best suited for you. Please send me an email for inquiries.

In addition I am also trained to work with issues that may have occurred within one's childhood that may now be affecting an individual in the here and now. Sometimes our formative experiences have a huge impact on how we love, we raise our children, or on the careers, we pick and inevitably on our own mental health.

It could be that as a family you may feel stuck and don't feel that you are able to communicate effectively anymore and need professional help.

Where do I work from:

My consulting room is based in East Leeds within a residential setting. There is free designated parking. There are two bus stops, one that is just outside my consulting room and another that is a 5 minute walk away.

What sort of appointments can I offer :

I can usually offer a range of online appointments from early morning to evening appointments, depending on availability.

Initial appointment :

Our first appointment is an opportunity for us to meet and both see if we are best suited to working together. This gives you an opportunity to see if my way of working suits your personality. The session will usually run for an hour for a reduced fee of £50.

UK Council for Psychotherapy

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I can offer telephone and online therapy to those individuals that may find it difficult to attend the sessions in person. We would begin by having an initial appointment at a scheduled time for an hour to find out if we are suited to working together. During this time you will have an opportunity to ask me anything you like. I will in turn explain how I work. Payment for any telephone work is usually requested prior to the session, usually on the day of the scheduled appointment.
