About me

Qualified Psychotherapist working within the Integrative Approach enabling me to be flexible to the client's needs of different ways of working. I offer a counselling service where a therapeutic relationship will enable you to be heard and supported to find your way through the journey of life.

Having personal therapy at times in our lives when we need to get clarity or acceptance on the various thing's life can throw at us; in my opinion it is a must for emotional balance. Through counselling you would be able to process incidents from your past that may well still be affecting you in the here and now or look at the fears and anxiety of what life many bring. Whether it is grief, trauma, relationships, addiction or just the problems of life; I am able to offer you a place to work through and process your difficulties and by doing this you enable yourself to move forward and be free to enjoy the present and the future.

I am a registered member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP and also the National Counselling Society MNCS (ACC) and I work within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

Alongside my private practice I work as an Addiction Therapist at the Priory Group at The Manor private rehab in Birmingham with the addiction therapy programme and general psychiatry patients. I previously completed voluntary counselling positions at Mind in Wellingborough and also at Northampton Rape Crisis. I have previously worked with GP Shared Care & Criminal Justice substance users, teenage homeless and supported vulnerable tenants within the housing system, so have a wealth of experience.

I am based in Marton-In-Cleveland, offering therapy in a comfortable therapy room at my home.  It is within easy reach of Middlesbrough, Darlington, Stockton, Hartlepool and surrounding areas.

If you would like to learn more about how we can work together, please do contact me.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
