17 Ivy Lane
I’m passionately motivated by the importance of supporting people and strongly feel that counselling can help individuals to gain a greater insight into the fluctuations of the mind, and that there are many tools that we can all use, to have a better grasp of our feelings and emotions. I see counselling as a very down-to-earth profession and strongly believe that most people can benefit from counselling, I aim to normalise the profession, by providing greater understanding about how talking therapies are helping in our everyday lives, and that counselling is a very normal part of a healthy existence.
What I offer:
I understand that it is often difficult to reach out for help and talk about unwanted feelings. I offer a safe place, a non-judgmental environment, a state of profound contact that helps people to get in touch with their feelings and to become present with their own experiences in the here and now.If I had to define psychological health I would look at how we function and adapt to everyday life. What are the struggles that one must go through every day to be able to function and cope.?
Our worst enemy is often ourselves. People tend to struggle with the idea of reaching out or talking about themselves because it feels selfish and might attract too much attention. I see counselling and self-reflection as the opposite of selfishness; I see it as a tool that helps us to be able to take responsibility over our own feelings and allow us to have better control over the direction of our lives.
