I offer a completely confidential environment where I work with adult individuals from age 17 upwards. I work deeply over time with a wide range of issues, creating a place of safety where you can bring whatever you might be struggling with or whatever it is that troubles you, with confidence. My approach is relational which means that it values the importance of the therapeutic relationship as the place where a sense of trust in the process of therapy is facilitated within a holding and nourishing atmosphere.
Whatever your suffering might be, it is human suffering and therefore requires no less than a human response. This is where I believe healing can begin.
Training, qualifications & experience
I studied and trained with Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC) which has been training to the very highest standards for over 30 years. I hold an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy from BCPC and Middlesex University and I am a registered member of UKCP.
I have 10 years experience in the field, having worked in a counselling agency setting at Alton Counselling Services for 5 years whilst building and running my own private practice in Farnham in Surrey.
I am currently concentrating on my private practice where I usually offer a 60 minute session to begin with. This gives us a chance to meet and get to know each other a little. This is also a time when you can outline a little of what brings you to therapy. You can also ask me any questions you might have about the process or about me and my work. If you decide you'd like to proceed, we will agree a day and a time for a weekly 50 minute session going forward.
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Affairs and betrayals
- Attachment disorder
- Carer support
- Chronic fatigue syndrome/ME
- Domestic violence
- Drug abuse
- Eating disorders
- Emotional abuse
- Family issues
- Feeling sad
- Generalised anxiety disorder
- Internet addiction
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Panic disorder
- Passive aggressive behaviour
My fee is £45 per 50 minute session. The fee is the same for the initial 60 minute session.
I have a working agreement which outlines my policies for missed or cancelled sessions and for holiday arrangements. We can spend some time looking through this at your initial session and you can ask me any questions you might have. You will be able to take this away with you after your initial session to read over in your own time and we can also take time to think about anything that still feels unclear, at your next session.
