About me

I can help you if you are having difficulty with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self confidence/esteem, or just don't know what is wrong but feel uncomfortable in yourself.

I work with both individuals and couples.

Some of my clients are experiencing immediate psychological distress, or are not feeling in control of their lives,  others are interested in making progress with their issues, whether they be of a personal or work related matter.

The experience I have from working with my clients helps inform my therapeutic approach. I offer both short and long term counselling.

My training is in Psychodynamic therapy where the main focus will be to work towards revealing the unconscious content of the psyche, this helps with understanding the origin of the issues you are experiencing and provides the opportunity to take a fresh look at them.

I recognise, however that individual issues often need a more tailored approach, and therefore I have additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Person Centred Therapy, and Transactional Analysis, I will utilise an integrated approach when appropriate.

I am registered to offer counselling to AXA/PPP and HEALIX clients, subject to their individual policy restrictions.

I work from consulting rooms in Hertfordshire as follows:

Royston Complementary Health Centre,  Royston, free parking after 3.30pm and accessible by train from King's Cross and Cambridge.

Hertford - Private Consulting Rooms in the centre of the town. This is easily accessible from Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas. Paid car parking nearby. Train to Hertford North and Hertford East.

I also offer counselling using Skype/FaceTime and telephone sessions, this is more flexible than face to face sessions. Some of my clients combine both which suits their lifestyle and personal commitments.

Further information

Our initial meeting:

We will have an initial meeting which will give us a chance to discuss what has brought you to seek counselling and the objectives you have. I will want to know more about you and your family, your relationships, and your current circumstances, the more that you are able to tell me at this stage will help to structure our sessions appropriately. I will ask you to tell me more about the history of the issues that you are bringing, and understand how these are affecting you in everyday life. Together we can plan our approach to meet the desired outcomes.

I will explain to you how counselling works and in particular what you can expect.
