Nicola Wainer Psychodynamic Counsellor. PGDip Child & Adolescent Counsellor
Mental health issues affect many of us at some point in our lives, being able to understand and work with this has always interested me. Having been a practitioner for many years, working with all ages from children to adults, I can see the range of benefits to clients of all ages.
I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor, accredited with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), and also an Integrative Child and Adolescent Counsellor. I am now in the second year of a Masters degree in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy to further my skills and knowledge. I work with clients in private practice in Enfield and at a local counselling centre, working either long term or short term counselling (10 -12 sessions) using an integrative approach with different counselling skills and mediums.
I can help you with a wide range of life difficulties including anxiety, relationship issues, family issues, panic disorder, separation and divorce and depression. Together we can explore the issues that are troubling you whether these stem from your past, the present or your fears and anxieties about your future. I will provide you with a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space that will help us develop a unique therapeutic relationship that brings insight and understanding.
If you are feeling overwhelmed at the thought of coming to counselling or just unsure please contact me.
I use play and art therapy techniques employing a variety of media including sand to help children express themselves comfortably and effectively.
I hold a full DBS and follow the Child Protection regulations. I work to the ethical standards of my accrediting organisation, the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
I am easily accessible by public transport, Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park train stations are a 5 - 10 minute walk or I am a 5 minute walk from bus routes 192, 191, 231, 307, 313, 317, and 629. There is also ample car parking available in the road.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Psychoanalytic Council
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
