About me

I am a Humanistic Counsellor and accredited member of the BACP (British Association of counselling and psychotherapy) My experience in counselling has been for a number of years within the NHS and private practice where I have dealt with a wide range of issues and worked with many diverse people. I currently work in youth counselling for the YMCA and the local information shop where I have gained experience working with young people with the issues and pressures they face in their day to day lives.

As your therapist I will do my best to walk alongside you in your journey to understand what it may be like for you. Providing a confidential safe place where we will work together using a wide range of therapeutic techniques to suite your needs to find the best outcome for you. I will always do this with the upmost regard for you being congruent and non-judgemental. With this in place I offer a warm empathetic and compassionate approach for you to explore your inner self And be able to trust in me.

Trust is the key to a successful therapeutic relationship and I believe this is one of my many strengths as a counsellor. Having experienced being the client within a counselling relationship I understand how it feels to take that first step into contacting and meeting a therapist, at the same time I have experienced how beneficial seeing a counsellor was to myself and my development as a person which is what lead me into becoming a counsellor.

I work Humanistically offering individual counselling for a wide variety of different issues working both short and long term, which we will discuss at our initial session and keep reviewing there after to ensure you are getting what you desire and need from the sessions.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
