About me

I am a fully qualified person centred counsellor which means I practice honestly, empathically and with the highest level of respect for all my clients whatever their past, present or issues they may be seeking support for.

I decided to practice under the person centred approach as I believe you are the expert within your own life, you know yourself better than anyone, as hard as that may be to believe. I provide a service that helps people to see this, you may share thoughts or feelings with another but who really knows you better than you?

Whilst I follow the client’s path, I help to refocus the thoughts, words and feelings that can sometimes offer high levels of confusion or distress;

Why am I feeling like this?

What makes me behave the way I do?

Where do I go from here?

Who am I now?

I will never give advice or be able to provide you with the answers to these questions but I can support you to find them within yourself. Empowerment can be life changing. I genuinely believe that by simply increasing self awareness, you can unlock what many are hoping to find.

Some people do not wish for answers, counselling can be a confidential space just for you, time dedicated for you. If you wish to speak, I will listen, if you are hoping to gain closure or process what is causing you distress, I can support you with this. Often clients wish to feel at peace from their past - it is possible, others want to truly understand their feelings, if we don’t understand them, are we trapped by them? We can only try to find out, but all of this is only achievable if you are in the right place with the right therapist.

You can send an enquiry via the website or call to arrange a consultation, whichever way is comfortable for you is how we will move forward. This is your time, I am just supporting you through it.

Client feedback from my most recent client attending & finishing his counselling sessions

“I feel I have achieved everything I needed too. My experience has been extremely positive, every step of the way I was supported & listened to in a very compassionate & empathic way. Nicola is an extremely kind & understanding person who makes you feel at ease when discussing very challenging subjects. All in all a wonderful experience in a weird way”.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
