About me

Feeling stuck, stressed, or lost? You're not alone.

Hi, I'm Nicola, an experienced integrative therapist. I help people conquer anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges to build a happier, healthier life.

Is this you?

Feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, depression or low mood?
Struggling with difficult relationships?
Experiencing loneliness, grief, or attachment issues?

I can help you:

Break free from negative patterns and limiting beliefs.
Develop healthy coping mechanisms and emotional resilience.
Build strong, fulfilling relationships with yourself and others.
Navigate life's challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

No more feeling stuck. ‍Together, we can create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your true potential and unlock a brighter future.

If you feel ready to take that first step, I have appointments available as early as next week. You can also schedule a free consultation to see if we're a good fit, or visit my website to learn more about my approach.

How can I help?

My individual counselling sessions offer a confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I use proven approaches, tailored to your unique needs, to help you achieve your desired outcomes.

Nervous about starting? That's completely understandable. Taking the first step can feel daunting, but together we can create a safe and welcoming environment where you feel comfortable opening up.

People come to counselling for many reasons and at different times of their life.

It may be that you have a relationship issue or family issue you want to work through, or perhaps you haven't been feeling right for some time and wonder if counselling may be able to help with this.

Maybe you want to find a way to relate to your partner better? Or perhaps you struggle with friendships or feeling lonely and would like to change this? Relating to people can be difficult for many people, for many reasons. By working with me, we explore how relationships are for you, what triggers may be impacting you and what you would like to be different. We then work together to find the best ways for you to start taking steps to having the relationships you want.

I can also help with bereavement and mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. Grief, loss, low mood, and anxiety can all have a huge impact on us. I have worked with many people' struggling with these experiences and helped them to find a way to feel happy and able to move forward again after a difficult time. I would be happy to work with you to help you overcome these difficulties too.

The benefits of Face to Face Counselling

For people who would prefer to meet in person, face to face counselling may feel more comfortable and reassuring to access. Face to face counselling means there are less distractions, helping you to immerse yourself in the therapeutic process.

Face to Face therapy can also help clients to build their confidence in communicating, as it builds confidence in speaking openly and honestly when face to face with someone.

I conduct face to face in a counselling practice in the centre of Cheltenham, near Clarence Street. Sessions available on Wednesdays (daytime and evening)

The Benefits of Online and Telephone Counselling

If you are feeling hesitant about sharing your personal thoughts and feelings with a stranger, or it would be difficult to find the time to fit in the time for face to face counselling, online or telephone counselling can be a safe, effective, and convenient way to receive the support you need.

There are many benefits to online and telephone counselling, and this can be equally as effective as face to face counselling.

Some benefits are:

Convenience: You can receive therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home. No need to worry about commuting, traffic, or finding childcare.

Accessibility: Online and telephone counselling can be a great option for people who have difficulty accessing traditional in-person therapy, such as those with busy schedules, those who live in rural areas, or those who have physical limitations. Online or telephone counselling can feel less intimidating than face to face therapy. Clients often tell me how much easier it feels to open up over the phone or online.

Flexibility: We can schedule appointments that fit your busy schedule.

Privacy and Confidentiality: I am committed to protecting your privacy. All our sessions are confidential, and I use secure platforms to conduct online therapy.

Effectiveness: Research has shown that online and telephone counselling are just as effective as in-person therapy for a wide range of mental health concerns.

I am able to offer a ten-minute telephone conversation for any queries or questions you have, which you can book directly via my profile.

Who can I work with?

I provide individual counselling to adults.

When I am available?

Appointments are available so we can start ASAP.

Most evenings, Wednesday day time and evenings.

To contact me, please email me using the link above. I will usually respond within the same day.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
