About me
I offer individual weekly face-to-face and online Psychotherapy and Art Psychotherapy to adults (over 18) at my practice next to Arsenal Tube near Highbury.
You can use Art as a way to express yourself and explore your creativity. You do not need any technical or artistic skills or experience in order to practice Art Therapy. It offers an opportunity for the client to express themselves using the materials (paints, clay, drawing materials), that I provide, freely and with no pressure or expectation. We can look at the artwork together, in order to try to identify and become aware of issues and problems which the client might want to try to understand and reflect on. If you prefer not to use art but to just talk, that’s also fine. The purpose of the therapy is to help the client to understand and possibly change patterns of behaviour that may originate in childhood, in order to achieve more satisfying relationships and to identify and achieve their potential. The client can use verbal communication as well as or instead of art materials to facilitate expression and understanding. I have many years experience and use a gentle, caring, non directive approach. This allows you to direct the discussion and to focus on the material that you want to prioritise, rather than it coming from me.
