About me
Real talk. Real support. Real growth.
Hi I'm Nik, and I work with people aged 14 to adulthood who are experiencing parent and child miscommunication, breakdown of marriage or family unit and the short/long term effects of life changes on mental health and wellbeing.
My background
My background in wellness coaching and adult counselling, combined with extensive experience of working with young people (ages 11–21) in education and community settings, gives me a deep understanding of the challenges that come for both parents, adults and young people whilst finding your way through difficult circumstances. The experiences we carry, and the behaviours we’ve learned along the way, can have a powerful influence on how we live and relate to the world around us now.
I have witnessed in my professional work how young people are forgotten about, or go unheard in the process of divorce or separation. Equally, I have worked with parents who struggle to reconnect with their children or to support their child during difficult times. I am passionate about healing the barrier between parent and child, recognising the importance of their relationship alongside independent self development, self care and personal growth.
What brought me here:
I bring both professional experience and knowledge but first and foremost, I bring lived experience—I’ve felt relationship and family breakdowns, experienced years of anxiety, trauma from situations that were outside of my control, and I know what it’s like to rebuild from the inside out - including self esteem, anxiety, depression and low self confidence.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, lost or simply need a space to be heard without judgement, I’m here to support you, challenge you and help you to work towards living your life feeling happier and healthier
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a First Class degree in Cognitive behavioural therapy, A diploma of higher education in Humanistic Gestalt counselling and integrate both approaches within my work. I complete regular, continued professional development courses, some examples are
Couples Counselling, sex and relationships, National Autism Trainer, walk and talk therapy, first aid, self-harm and suicide prevention, working with domestic violence survivors, bereavement and suicide related bereavement.
I have worked extensively with young people, school and college refusal, educational coaching & mentoring (study skills & navigating education) as well as members of staff working in education.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
