About me
Nicky Deacon, Dip Couns (MBACP), DHP.AccHyp (MembPHPA) – Registered Accredited Integrative counsellor.
Welcome. Because it’s very important for you to feel comfortable and safe with the counsellor you choose, I’d like to invite you to an initial assessment session, the first half hour free of charge, so that you can meet me and determine if I’m the counsellor for you. During this first visit, we’ll go over what brought you to consider counselling, what you’d like the results to be and, what the counselling process will be like.
I also offer hypnotherapy to combat panic attacks, anxiety, smoking cessation, weight-loss management, phobias, and confidence. Hypnotherapy is also an effective way to help with pain management and combat insomnia. During the initial assessment we will discuss which approach might be best for you to ensure you get the best results.
If you decide you’d like to work with me, sessions will be tailored to your specific needs and, although mainly talk therapy, may include such gentle yet powerful and proven techniques as art therapy and mindfulness. Each session will help you work through your feelings in a safe and comfortable environment that enables you to fully explore and develop the solutions that are right for you.
I will not only help you explore solutions to your problems, but support you in the process of change to a happier you. My experience includes working with relationship problems and divorce, to conditions such as depression, bereavement, general anxiety disorder and low self-esteem.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
