About me

I am a qualified counsellor working from the comfortable and calm environment of the Brighton Consulting Rooms, conveniently located for the Preston Park / Withdean area and Preston Park Station.  (Please see below if  you have mobility or other issues that make attending difficult)

As a Humanistic Counsellor with a solution-focused bias, I will work with you to towards your wish for understanding of your personal circumstances, and explore your resources for change or growth in a positive way.  I offer a warm, friendly, safe and empathic therapy. This is a confidential service, my practice is supervised according to BACP guidelines and I maintain professional insurance.

So why would this be right for you?  Perhaps you simply have a feeling that 'things' could feel better in some way.  But human beings are complex, and also come to counselling with any of the issues that can impact on our sense of wellbeing including anxiety, depression, relationship and interpersonal issues, bereavement, problematic acohol or substance use (perhaps 'addiction') childhood abuse, OCD, and anger.   I also work with unresolved issues resulting from being fostered or adopted as a child, or perhaps you are a carer.

Humanistic Counselling is very much based upon the experience and potential that each of us brings, and helps uncover a way forward that honours the experience of being in relationship.  I have the hope, born of my experience, that counselling will help to identify a way of being that is more in line with who you feel you are, and want to be.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
