About me

Hello and welcome. I understand that making the decision to come into therapy can be daunting; it can seem almost like a formal acknowledgment that things in your life are not exactly as you would like them.

Despite the emotional challenges involved in reaching out for support, the acknowledgment of your problems can be the first step in solving them.

How I work
As a qualified Humanistic Integrative therapist. I have blended many of the most potent ingredients, from differing modalities. At the heart of my practice are the Holistic therapies; Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Person-Centered Therapy. Blended together with, Solution Focused Therapy. Including the scientifically proven, cutting edge research into couples counselling, based on published studies from John Gottman’s research Institute
Underpinning, my practice is Poly Vagal Theory. Having studied under the much-acclaimed trauma clinician and consultant Deb Dana LCSW. Author of The Polyvagal Theory in Practice. Based on the 40 years of published research, into the origins and various functions, of the Vagus nerve by Stephen W Porges, PhD.
I specialize in working with all aspects of addiction, including, Substance Misuse, Gambling, Technology & Gaming. I am also a trauma trained EMDR Practitioner, working with complex trauma, panic attacks, anxiety and PTSD, after studying at the EMDR Training & Trauma Therapy Centre London.
I also incorporate mindfulness, meditation and experiential approaches into my practice.
Providing, an atmosphere of safety, support and empathy, facilitating trust. Allowing, you to safely explore your feelings, beliefs and thoughts without fear of judgment. I do not act as an authority figure; rather, the relationship between you and the myself is one of equals.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
