Naveed Asghar GradDip, Registered Member MBACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist
Searching for and seeing a counsellor can be a daunting experience for some people, but doing so can be seen as a major step in making moves to becoming more contented with life.
I am an experienced, qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I provide a safe environment with a non-judgemental, empathic and compassionate service for clients experiencing psychological issues that are painful, hoping to work through them and get to a stage where they feel content with their lives.
My approach to counselling is primarily Person-Centred although I am able to incorporate Solution Focused Brief Therapy techniques into my practice. I have also some training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and can apply techniques from this method of therapy when required.
I have worked with clients presenting with various issues such as low self-esteem or confidence, self-harm, depression, anxiety, abuse, anger management, bereavement and panic attacks.
Working with children and young people
I have experience in counselling children from ages 11 to 16, having worked in a secondary school referral unit with clients experiencing emotional and behavioural issues such as ADHD and autism. Prior to my current position I was working for Barnardos, counselling children between the ages of 6 to 18.
I am currently working for the NHS in Lancashire counselling children from ages 5 to 18.
I work from private premises based in Rochdale, Lancashire. There is free parking available outside the building.
