I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist who has worked with a wide range of issues since 2007 and my background is in Media and the Performance Arts. In therapy, together we can explore how you can build the blocks to your own self empowerment. Reaching out can seem overwhelming at first but it is the most powerful thing you can do in terms of your own recovery. Seeing it as a strength, rather than a weakness. I founded Unity Counselling Service in 2011 and have also worked extensively in the Social Care Sector with children, families and young people. In the application of my counselling approach, I draw on various theoretical denominations including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic and Humanistic theory and interventions, usually on a one to one basis. I feel that working Integratively enables me to offer clients a customised therapeutic process, suited to an individuals unique requirements and circumstances. To this effect, I have worked with a variety of mental health issues and disorders over the years.
Counselling has always interested me and I have experienced accessing these services personally. I found counselling to be of immense benefit and wanted to, from then on, give of myself in the same way to support another persons growth and potential.
I am an Individual member of the BACP regulatory body and covered by Public Liability Insurance.
