About me

I offer competitively priced online therapy sessions. Your preferences and the type of therapy you want matter. I will work collaboratively to identify your expectations and co-create a therapeutic experience that works for you.

I work using the ‘core self’ model, a humanistic/person-centred approach, alongside which I integrate acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, aspects of compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and somatic tools to empower clients to resource themselves.

I see therapy sessions as a place to process and make sense of the unique stories of your life, as well as an opportunity to learn new skills and increase psychological flexibility and flourishing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with a variety of clients via Priory (Bristol), where I have worked for the last 7 years, as well as providing therapy through the Wellbeing Service of the Diocese of Bath and Wells. I also have my own private practice, (and have previously provided sessions for 'Spill' mental health employee support).

I am an Accredited Member of the BACP and work within their code of ethics. I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate.

I continue to engage with regular professional development opportunities in addition to having completed the below:

  • Integrative Counselling Advance Diploma (level 5) BACP accredited (via Network Counselling & Training, Bristol)
  • Standard EMDR Europe Accredited Training (via EMDR Academy)
  • ACT Immersion Course (Stephen Hayes via 'Praxis')
  • Certificate 3rd wave CBT (SDS training)
  • Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling (via Counselling Tutor)
  • Integrative Counselling Certificate (Network Counselling & Training, Bristol)
  • Diploma (level 5) Antenatal Education (Transition to Parenthood)

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
