About me
Depression and/or anxiety are the most common reasons people think about coming to therapy, you are not alone. The symptoms associated with these problems can range from mild to severe, but the good news is that you don't have to just put up with it, there are ways to navigate through this.
During my time as a therapist so far, I have sat with people experiencing problems like bereavement, suffering with illness such as cancer, relationship issues, bullying, loneliness and isolation, childhood and adult trauma, pandemic experiences, PTSD, ADHD and Autism, self-esteem issues, unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that effect their lives, to name a few.
This may give you an idea of reasons people seek therapy as well as my experience, which may be helpful for you when choosing your therapist.
We live in a world that demands a lot from us and it is not unusual for us as humans to feel overwhelmed, not good enough and out of our depth to name a few. Therapy can help us to work out what is making you feel this way, as well as learning strategies to navigate through this thing we call life. You deserve to be happy and to thrive. Oftentimes, the most powerful thing therapy offers is to just be heard, to feel validated, to just "be". Sometimes, we just need a place to talk about it.
The paradox seems to be that when we feel we are enough, we are then able to thrive. That is the beauty of therapy.
Feel free to take a look at some of my clients testimonies to give you an idea of how therapy has helped others and how it could do the same for you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Client testimonials, such as this one, can give you an idea of what can be achieved with counselling:
"I had never experienced counselling before and was very apprehensive about it. Natalie turned all that around with the patience she always showed and the safe place she provided in our sessions. She guided me through a period of grief and anxiety, teaching me techniques and approaches that made a big difference to how I was managing day-to-day life. Natalie helped me gain a meaningful understanding of my reactions and emotions, giving me the space to talk through traumas I had experienced when I felt ready. In a kind and empathetic way, Natalie asked me questions that challenged learned behaviour and deep-rooted beliefs. Thanks to Natalie, I am prepared to deal with issues that may come up in the future."
"Natalie empowered me to have the strength and resilience I had before my experience that brought me to counselling. You listened, empathised put a different view for the way I was feeling and empowered me to make a change in my life. I would recommend counselling with Natalie to bring focus, resilience and positivity back into your life"
"My experience of therapy with Natalie was life-changing. I'd experienced domestic abuse & violence, emotional abuse and coercive controlling behaviour from my long-term partner. We had 2 children together, who also experienced this kind of abuse. I blamed myself a lot for his behaviour.
Natalie helped me realise I was in fact a protector, I was a good role model for my daughter as she became a Mum, that I have always had my children's best interests at heart and that was not to blame for my partner's atrocious behaviour.
Natalie was personable from the first moment we spoke. She talked to me on the level and with understanding. Natalie listened to me, she was patient.
If anyone is wondering whether to go ahead with therapy for any reason I would say 100% to try it. It totally changed my outlook on my life past and present"
"I have been having sessions with Natalie for approximately 6 months and I cannot recommend her enough! With her help I have come to understand and love myself so much more. I have always found it difficult to trust people but trusting Natalie came easily, she has a calming presence which makes it easy to talk and I have always felt like I am really being heard. Although some of our sessions have been difficult I always leave feeling lighter with more coherent thoughts. Thanks to my own work and Natalie I now know what it feels like to be properly happy"
"I would be more than happy to recommend you to anyone, you made my experience in your sessions as comfortable as possible. You helped me understand myself and helped me deal with the things that troubled me in a well paced and logical way helping me deal with my trauma and always making things clear to me while being very supportive. I can't thank you enough for your help and when the time is right I will be more than happy to resume using your services, so thank you again"
"Natalie helped me enormously during a very difficult period of my life, and provided Integrative therapy to deal with many of my personal relationships through setting healthy boundaries, and recognising my own needs within these. I was able to work through a lot of challenging issues, past and current, find some resolution, and felt better equipped to manage those moving forward. I am still benefitting from the help I received months later. Natalie was patient, kind, empathetic, observant, and put me at ease. I would thoroughly recommend Natalie to anyone seeking a therapist"
