About me

COVID-19 NOTICE
Due to the current Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lock-down, I am offering different means of accessing counselling including telephone, video chat, email, text and instant message.

Some people come to counselling for specific issues, others because they just don’t feel right. Perhaps you are having difficulty talking to friends and family, whatever the reason I am here to help. Making the decision to come to counselling can be daunting, but it is a positive step to gaining insight and understanding, and finding a better path.

What I offer is a non-judgemental, relaxing, safe place where you can discuss everything. I am here to listen, whatever you need to say will be heard. I can help you unburden and gain relief from what distresses you. I can help you challenge and change how you think about things. I can help you put words to what you are feeling. I can offer information on new strategies to help you cope with life's stresses and create the life you want. I have experience working with many issues, such as depression, anxiety, domestic abuse, the impact of early years, relationship issues, anger, sexual abuse and so on.

Experience including - private practice, GP surgeries, Childline, School settings, EAP, Groups, Couples and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. I work well with male and female clients and will build a therapeutic relationship based on what you need as a client. The client knows best, I just know the theories which may help you get there.

To ensure I give my very best to my clients my basic training from U.U. Foundation Degree in Counselling has been enhanced with further training including a BSc Hons degree in Counselling and Forensic Psychology, Counselling Children and Adolescents Cert, Couples and Family Therapy DIP, Level 5 CBT Cert and working on my Masters in Systems Thinking.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
