About me
My name is Natalie and I provide counselling in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.
Are you after a down to earth counsellor? Someone who you can feel comfortable enough to share your deepest concerns with? Yes? Then I am the counsellor for you!
I can help to work through past and present experiences which may be affecting you negatively. I am a member of the BACP and will work within most areas of counselling.
I am fully qualified with a MSc in Counselling Psychology and I am also a registered member of the BACP (MBACP).
I will offer you a safe, caring and confidential space to work through any issues which you may be struggling with. I am kind, caring and passionate about my work.
I was a bereavement counsellor in a hospice before taking the leap of faith in to private practice.
What to expect
I offer an initial, free 20 minute telephone consultation. This is where we will be able to briefly discuss your area of concern and to explain how I will be able to work with you. It also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about counselling.
I understand that making the first step to see a counsellor is a big deal and this initial telephone contact will help to reduce your anxiety. If you feel that you would like to come and see me for counselling we will book in a time which is convenient for us both, to meet and start the therapeutic relationship.
The first session usually consists of you explaining your story to me in a safe, confidential and genuine space, free from judgement. I will also run through a contract with you, I do this to promote transparency and safety from the outset.
The sessions are 50 minutes long in comfortable surroundings, more information can be supplied on request.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
