About me

I am an experienced Counsellor having worked with issues such as sexual, physical and emotional abuse, depression, stress, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, miscarraige, abortion, spirituality, career direction, loneliness, victims and families of offenders, suicidal thoughts and carer support. My approach is person centred which means I won't tell you what to do but will accept you, try to understand, and work with you to help find your own answers.

As well as counselling I work in a prison, where I work with a team to run rehabilitation groups. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques to help unpick what might have led to offending, including beliefs and attitudes. I use motivational interviewing techniques to help people set personal goals and steps to achieve them. I also teach counselling to adults which is challenging and rewarding as I love to learn and see others grow.

I believe that creativity can sometimes help people to express themselves more easily. I have used poetry, music and artwork as a therapeutic tool to explore feelings with clients. If this is something you would like to use I would be happy to discuss, although it isn't for everyone.

If you would like to get in touch please email me to arrange a quick chat and we can go from there. Look forward to hearing from you.
