About me
Hello,
Embarking on a counselling journey can be scary at first, however, it can be the first step of an empowering journey to self understanding and acceptance.
I know from personal experience that navigating through life can be tough and stressful. Sometimes it may feel like there is nowhere to turn, counselling can be like a port in the storm.
Up until now, you may have found it difficult to express what’s going on for you. I can provide a safe space to begin to explore those thoughts and feelings, without judgement.
Listening with empathy and compassion, I can help you better understand yourself and what’s going on for you. This can lead to improved self-awareness, more self-confidence and better relationships with others.
I believe that ultimately you have the answers and solutions within you and my role is to help you discover them.
I use a range of techniques including Emotion Freedom Techniques (EFT), and techniques from Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT). These can be tailored to your individual needs.
The most important part of therapy is the 'therapeutic alliance' and getting the right person for you. Here's a really useful video on the BBC website, about looking for a counsellor/therapist:

If you would like to find out more about if we could work together, then I would love to hear from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
