About me

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." Maya Angelou

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Comrie, Perthshire. I am currently only working online or by phone. I am a certified phone and online counsellor.

People come to counselling for many reasons. I believe that it is by being heard and accepted in a real way that we can begin to make sense in our own minds and find ways of coping with distress. Sometimes it can feel that our minds are a jumbled mess, like string all tangled together and we can't find the end to untangle it. Through working together I aim to help you find the end of the string and begin to untangle it together, working through any knots until they loosen.

I strive to provide clients with a safe, confidential space in which to be heard and accepted as you are. I believe that only you can be the expert on your own life, I am not here to tell you how you should live. However, by being open with you and accepting you as you are I hope we can journey together to help you find the answers you are looking for.

I hope to help you make the changes you wish to make in order to live the life you want. I know that taking the first step towards change can be scary, but perhaps by taking that step together it may feel easier.

My background is working with individuals and families in difficult circumstances in a number of third sector organisations. I have a number of years of experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma. Working with trauma has been the focus of my CPD.

I have 15 years of mindfulness training and bring this to the work I do. I also often make use of creative ways of working if clients should find that useful.

I am a registered member of BACP and work to their ethical framework. I continue my learning through regular CPD.

Due to the current situation with Covid, I am currently only offering online or telephone sessions however, this allows me to take on clients who may not be in my locality. I look forward to hearing from you.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
