About me

I am a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapist working face-to-face with adults and young people at The Bay Therapy Centre in West Bridgford.

I aim to provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore any issues or difficulties you might be experiencing.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy, the differences being that counselling may be short-term work, focusing on a specific issue and psychotherapy can be longer-term or open-ended; often working on issues and elements of self at greater depth.

I work with clients on a humanistic, relational level, meaning that I value you as an individual and seek to build an ethical, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship whereby you can safely unravel what may be troubling you.

I am trained as an integrative psychotherapist, meaning that I utilise different therapeutic ‘tools’ to help fit your needs as an individual.

I have a keen interest in human development, neuroscience, and attachment theories, which underpin my theoretical approach.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy
  • The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute

I have completed 4 years of training in Integrative Psychotherapy at postgraduate level, with a distinction from Staffordshire University.

The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute is highly regarded as one of the best training providers in the UK, with degrees accredited by either the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I have several years of clinical training and experience, working with a diverse range of clients and issues at Nottingham Women’s Centre, and have also undertaken extensive personal therapy as part of my own self-development as a therapist.

  • I am a volunteer for SHOUT charity
  • I also volunteered for SOVA as a mentor for children and young people
  • I am fully DBS checked

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
