Munjit Samra MBACP (Reg), PGDip, PT
Hi, I'm Munjit, a highly experienced qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with extensive experience in mental health, helping adults, young people and children.
As an integrative counsellor, I will draw upon different theories and approaches from my training to offer a flexible approach tailored to your particular needs. I believe in working collaboratively to help explore your concerns, in order to ensure insight and awareness and help you to decide on your goals for your therapy. I also believe in valuing the individual's choice to set the pace for their counselling.
As a qualified creative arts and play therapist, I am able to use creative approaches and play skills to help children and young people be able to more easily express their difficulties and experiences. Currently, I am supporting adolescents and young adults' mental health and wellbeing in an educational establishment.
Do you need help getting back on track?
Sometimes in life we may face difficulties and personal challenges, feeling unable to cope with what is thrown at us. It's so easy to lose perspective and to feel overwhelmed and stressed. In counselling, together we can look at the behaviours which may be contributing towards feeling stuck to find an enhanced way of living more happily.
I appreciate that it can feel daunting to start to talk about yourself to a counsellor, but you will be in the right place. I will treat you with respect, be warm and accepting, it's important to not feel judged. I will value you and help you to feel that you are not under pressure to commit to more than you wish to. I believe the relationship between the counsellor and client is key to make change possible, recognising your uniqueness and individuality as being the central tenet of my counselling work.
I value uniqueness, individuality and embrace diversity.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you were to have any further questions. If you are interested in some counselling sessions, we will arrange to meet for an initial consultation where you can then decide what you wish to do.
I would be very happy to hear from you.

As a child therapist my training has informed me that developmentally, young children function at different cognitive levels compared to adults. In the therapeutic relationship, I am able to use the creative arts and facilitate play skills as a safe medium, which enables young people to safely express their worries and anxieties in their therapy.
I also offer supportive interventions for parents/carers in order to assist with difficulties in their relationship with their child, which is preventing them from effectively bonding. Sometimes, if needed this can involve looking at attachment difficulties.
