About me

I welcome you on the first step of your therapeutic journey.

I am a qualified and highly experienced therapist and supervisor with over 15 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including the NHS. I have completed my training as a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist with the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. I am now a fully qualified psychosexual and relationship therapist.

I offer:

  • Individual Therapy
  • Psychosexual Therapy *
  • Relationship Therapy *
  • Child Therapy
  • Adolescent Therapy
  • Clinical Supervision

* I am currently offering reduced rates for these services

Individual Therapy

I am committed to and value the process of therapeutic change and understand the importance of providing a safe space in which to explore and work on your issues. I work hard to provide an environment that is safe and supportive enabling you to explore and work through issues from the past, present or potential future concerns.

I feel that engaging within therapy will help to promote your journey to greater awareness, insight and emotional and psychological growth. I promote the process of insight, awareness and knowledge to help you move forward to a more integrated and connected self.

I work in a holistic and integrative way and will tailor our sessions to respect your individual and unique process and journey.

You may wish to seek individual therapy sessions if you are experiencing difficulty with issues around:

  • Low mood
  • Anxiety
  • Grief/loss
  • Attachment issues
  • Isolation
  • Trauma
  • Self harm
  • Abuse
  • Stress
  • Addictions
  • Phobias

I am happy to mutually explore and work with any issues in your life that you feel are holding you back and causing emotional and psychological distress. I encourage your understanding of your own processes to help aid healing, transformation and growth.

Psychosexual Therapy

I work with both individuals and couples (including same sex couples) who are experiencing difficulty within their relationships and/or sexual functioning.  I believe that if unresolved, conflict and issues within relationships can have a significant impact on individual, sexual, emotional and relationship functioning and well being.  I work integratively with a view that sexual difficulties can have physical, psychological and emotional impacts.

Psychosexual issues may include:

  • Issues with sexual intimacy
  • Difficulties with orgasm
  • Sexual diversity
  • Male erection problems (erectile dysfunction)
  • Orgasming too quickly (premature ejaculation)
  • Sexual trauma
  • Sexual abuse
  • Loss of sexual desire and arousal difficulties (male and female)
  • Menopause
  • Sexual phobias
  • Gender dysphoria
  • Dyspareunia (pain during sex)
  • Vaginismus (difficulty or inability to have penetrative sex)
  • Addictions, including porn addictions
  • Issues with fetishes

I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to help you work through your issues and restore harmony.  I welcome individuals and couples from different cultural backgrounds, ethnicity and sexual orientations.  I am happy to work with you individually or alongside your partner to help you achieve greater sexual health, fulfillment and satisfaction.

Relationship Therapy

Relationships can often be fraught with difficulties, conflict and distress.  Relationship therapy can help to provide support with helping to foster enhanced communication between couples, increasing awareness and understanding dynamics.

Relationship problems may include:

  • Trust issues
  • Betrayal
  • Communication difficulties
  • Dynamics
  • Commitment issues
  • Trauma
  • Patterns and roles within relationships
  • Stress and frustration
  • Loss
  • Sex difficulties
  • Infertility

I am happy to work with both couples and individuals to help encourage renewed understanding, insight into uncovering patterns or roles that may be affecting your relationship with yourself or your partner and will help you work towards discovering more effective ways to manage conflict and difficulties.

Child Therapy

I have over 13 years of experience working with children. I can work with children from the age of 4 upwards. I offer one-to-one support and provide a safe, therapeutic environment for your child to express and work through their emotions and challenges. I can work collaboratively and will liaise with other professionals if this is needed and focus on the best interests of your child at all times. Whilst respecting confidentiality, I will endeavour to keep the parent/guardian informed of the progress of therapy sessions and encourage parental involvement if and when required.

Children may benefit from seeking therapy when presenting with difficulties around:

  • Eating issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Self harm
  • Issues around identity
  • Expressing emotions

  • Gender and sexuality
  • Bullying
  • Negative thinking
  • Drugs
  • Alcohol

Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision to therapists, mental health professionals and other practitioners.

I believe that effective supervision is essential for your professional growth.  I encourage reflection, learning, growth, development and empowerment within supervision sessions. I endeavour to provide high quality supervision that promotes and supports your development as a professional.

Supervision can be offered weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your needs.

I offer reduced supervision rates for trainees.

If you feel that you may benefit from attending sessions with me, we can arrange an initial assessment session in which we mutually discuss your issues and needs. I offer both short and long term therapy. I am also able to offer Skype or telephone counselling sessions.

I can currently offer venues in Canterbury and Broome Park, Denton.

Please feel free to contact me by email or phone should you have any questions. I am happy to discuss any concerns or queries you may have before undertaking therapy.

I understand how important it is for you to feel comfortable, safe and secure during therapy and hold the relationship between us as key to effective therapy. I am therefore currently offering a free initial 20 minute telephone consultation for you to help decide if I am the right therapist for you.  Please feel free to email or call me if you feel that you would benefit from this free initial consultation.
