About me

As a fully trained and accredited psychotherapist working in Durham City, it would be my pleasure to help you.  Having practised for 10 years, I have broad experience of working with adults on a wide range of issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, OCD and relationship issues.

As a humanistic and integrative therapist, I have the skills and flexibility to help you in the right way for you, always mindful of creating a great working relationship so that we can get right to the heart of the issue in hand.   Whether you are new to therapy or have previously seen a therapist, I will help guide you in what to expect from therapy and what can be achieved.  I offer a free 10 minute telephone chat to help you assess whether I might be the right therapist for you.

My extensive work also covers significant experience with younger adults and students, seeking to help them with the myriad of contemporary pressures that young people today face.  I also have experience of working with clients on the autistic spectrum.

I practice in a central Durham facility.  It's a welcoming and comfortable space, easily accessible for both private and public transport and with ample parking.  I am also happy to host therapy sessions online and have found that this can be a very affective medium.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the Northern Guild of Psychotherapy in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. The training took five years to complete and at the end of it, I gained UKCP accreditation as a psychotherapist.  I have practiced clinically since 2010.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
