About me

Hello and welcome!

I am a fully qualified and accredited ( BABCP) Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with many years experience working in the NHS as a senior psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. My work is undepinned by the core values of compassion and professionalism . I strive to work to  the highest of  standards and leave no stone unturned in my efforts to help my clients overcome their problems. I offer treatment  from therapy centres in central Edinburgh . I also treat people by telephone or Skype for those that cannot attend face to face sessions. Please see the types of problems that I specialise in below.

Understanding how CBT works

It is part and parcel of being human to go through difficult times in life that can leave you feeling stressed, low in mood and lacking in self confidence. There will be times when you feel stuck and in need of some help to overcome your problems .CBT teaches you skills for life to control your emotions instead of them controlling you. It will help you understand how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours interact so that you can gain the power to live a better life. The good news is that CBT is a tried, tested and effective talking therapy that has more evidence than any other therapy to show it works.

Further information

I have been working for many years in the NHS and privately as a psychotherapist: gaining experience of treating a wide variety of problems. CBT is my core model of treatment but I am also trained in Person Centred, Psychodynamic and others psychotherapy  models so can tailor treatment according to your needs. I strive to meet high standards in everything I do and my work is built on a foundation of compassion and professionalism.  I have an excellent track record of achieving good recovery rates for those that I treat and work hard to keep up to date with the latest scientific evidence base to offer effective therapeutic interventions.
If you are unsure of what therapeutic model will best suit your needs then I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation to discuss this with you and help you find the best way forward to overcome your problems.
