Hello my name is Monique and I am a child and young person counsellor and psychotherapist, with over 20 years’ experience of working with children, young people and their families. I have worked in early years, youth and community projects, alternative education provisions and a children and young people counselling charities.
Many of us will have faced worries or anxieties at some point in our lives. And sometimes we may require support in managing those feelings, working through and understanding them. I truly believe that talking to counsellor will help you to overcome or lessen those unwanted feelings, which in time will allow you to move forward in your life.
I offer a confidential, warm and friendly space where you can be you, talk freely and at your own pace.
I can work with young people up to the age of 25.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have a MSc in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling. And I hold qualifications in Early Years and Education, Youth and Community Work, a Young Persons Personal Adviser, and a Family Practitioner.
I have experience of working with children and young people in primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, children's centres, youth offending service, leaving care service, and looked after children services. As well as school leavers, and young people in or out of employment.
When I am not counselling private clients I work as a Child Practitioner in a Childrens Social Care team.

I offer both short and long term counselling. The first session is an assessment session, which gives an opportunity to explore the issues you want to work on and for you to decide if you want to work with me.
