Monika Killeen (MBACP)
I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist & Counsellor (MBCAP). I work in private practice, in Hertfordshire area, and in a charity in Buckinghamshire, which provides community psychodynamic counselling services for people on restricted income.
Unlike other forms of counselling, psychodynamic thinking involves exploring patterns in your behaviour, including the unconscious triggers which influence the way you relate to people, often without understanding why, or how to change it.
In weekly sessions which last 50 minutes, I will provide you with a space in which you can explore ways to challenge the more difficult feelings you might have about yourself, or towards other people. Through our work together, you will come to understand yourself better, enabling you to make adjustments in your life, small or big, towards a more content life.
I tend to work on an ongoing and open-ended basis but it is possible to agree on a block of time-limited work, of six to twelve weeks duration, if you prefer to have a firm end-date in view.
I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I abide by its ethical framework.
