About me

Passionate, dedicated Counsellor offering therapy to individuals facing difficult and emotional times. We all have our own journey in life and at different times want to tell a different story of ourselves to help reflect and grow from. My role in that journey is to offer a safe and empathic space where you can be yourself, gain understanding of some behaviours and patterns, and hopefully let go of pain and confusion. Trauma effects people in different ways, some go years not acknowledging some emotions and feelings, while others may pick up on change very early on in their path to healing.

My chosen approaches are Psychodynamic and person centred, Psychodynamic is used to help you think about past trauma and experiences to help you have a better understanding of current thoughts and patterns. Person centred is used to help centre the sessions around you, allowing you to lead the session and prioritise what’s important to you.

I have 12 years of experience working in various settings and offering support to adults and young people struggling with their mental health. I know the importance of positive mental health and at times how this can be overlooked, Counselling is a way of making your mental health a priority while also learning and developing healthy coping skills.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
