About me

I am a fully qualified BACP counsellor. I have experience in working with a range of emotional and psychological health difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationship problems and addiction. I have extensive experience working in the voluntary sector for Change, Grow, Live- a nationwide organisation supporting people with homelessness and poor mental health.

I always start by listening and tuning into your experience, to gain a greater understanding of the reasons you have decided to seek counselling. Through our work together, i would hope to help you become both more comfortable with who you are, more accepting of yourself, less anxious and self-critical. This work can only take place within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship which we will build together over time.

I have just completed my BACP/Open Uni 2019 qualification for on-line counselling, this included texting, email and Video conferencing. I have Skype and Zoom available. My rates are £50 per 50 min session and concessions and sliding scales are available.

I also offer face to face sessions in Ramsgate Kent

I also offer home visits in Thanet

My training was focused on the Integrated approach, enabling me to draw from a range of counselling techniques such as, Humanistic Person Centred, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Therefore my approach is always tailored to individual need and what might work best for you.

I bring a rich life experience around complex family relationship issues, step families and modern eclectic family life, giving me personal insight into the complex world of family dynamics. I have spent many years as a working musician and value creative thinking and like to work in a existential way, trying to find a way of helping you find yourself in the world.

I have a continued commitment to learning as part of my continued professional development and undertake a range of different courses on a monthly basis. I also have monthly supervision.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
