About me
My aim is that we will work together to build a warm and trusting environment where a genuine relationship will flourish. Within this relationship we will work on any issues that are currently affecting you. Commonly this might be anxiety, depression, loss, family issues and low self-confidence. I also work closely within the LGBTQ+ community and with neurodivergent people.
I work with people with a variety of different needs and we would start with a no-obligation chat to decide whether we can work together.
Some of my work involves navigating complex mother-daughter relationships with the aim of finding a way forward that fits the situation.
I provide relational, psychodynamic and integrative psychotherapy. Our conversations are guided by you and what suits your needs.
I work inclusively and will attempt to provide every accommodation necessary for different abilities, neurodiversities, genders, sexualities and races.
I work online and offer regular weekly appointments including before or after traditional working hours if needed. I am a member of the BACP; I adhere to their ethical standards and can assure confidentialty. I charge £55 per session, however I have a sliding scale for those who would otherwise struggle to access my services. If you would like to have a free introductory 10-15 minute chat to decide if we might work well together you can call, leave a message below, whatsapp me on 07404 960686, or email me miriam@theraps.co.uk.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
