MBACP CBT, Counselling & Life Coaching (& Remote Service)

About me

I am Miranda Lo, MCouns, BSc (Psych) (Hons.), MBACP (registered Counsellor with BACP), Life Coach (certified MAP Method™ Practitioner), Hypnotherapist, and registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT500 & RPYT).

MY COUNSELLING APPROACH: I work with an Integrative Therapeutic and Coaching Approach to assist people in connecting deeper with their trueness alongside the ever-moving current of life, and to eventually find their ultimate meaning in life... Enjoy life to its fullness...

I am inspired to journey the Path with YOU on Self-exploration and thus having YOUR potential unleashed. Many years ago, I sought to have my potential in life unleashed. I asked my teachers/mentors. Years gone by, I noticed that this teacher/mentor has been within me, being with me. Therefore, we are our own mentor whom actively assists in the process of unleashing the potential and well-being within us.

Throughout these years of experience on working on myself, I feel grateful in collaboratively assisting YOU in revealing the teacher/mentor within Your Self, and thus having YOUR potential unleashed FULLY, be it in your life journey, career development, parenting stage, as well as your children’s development. I look forward to serving YOU, ONLINE in Southside, Glasgow, UK.

MY EXPERIENCE & PRACTICE: Having worked in the commercial sector for many years, I understand what it feels like when encountering emotional issues and stress in life. I embarked on a journey of self-exploration and yoga practice which has allowed me to feel, see and find my own potential, as well as what I am passionate about in life.

I am currently offering my practice via ONLINE in East Kilbride, Glasgow, UK. I offer a variety of counselling, life coaching and therapy sessions, as well as yoga course in ENGLISH, CANTONESE and MANDARIN.

I have worked with adults and couples with various concerns, including social anxiety, performance anxiety, self-esteem issues, finding self-identity and meaning in life (self-exploration), career guidance and vocational transformation, depression, bereavement, panic attack, anxiety, fixed core belief, nightmares, communication issues within relationship, self-harming, binge eating, issues of Borderline Personality Disorder, long-term therapy support, dual diagnosis, alcohol and substance abuse, and anger management.

I participate in continual professional training regularly to keep my practice up-to-date in serving the various concerns of my clients.

HOW YOU WILL BENEFIT FROM MY SERVICES... I work with an evidence-based & Integrative Therapeutic Approach - applying benefits from various modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Approach, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, etc, to cater for different concerns, be it stress, mood issues, grief, phobia, panic attack, esteem and/or relationship issues. In my counselling and coaching sessions, I assist clients in unleashing their WELL-BEING and POTENTIAL, through a deeper Connection with their Trueness alongside the ever-moving current of life, and eventually Seeing their ultimate Meaning in Life, and thus Enjoying life to its fullness.

"Miranda is helping me to change how I feel, understand and process things.  Having been through various counsellors in the past, I don't know how I would have managed if I hadn't chosen her...  I feel really positive when I think about my sessions and Miranda.  It is hard to talk about some things but Miranda makes it safe and achievable.  I am also able to express myself for tasks.  11/10!!!"

"...I find the sessions have had a huge positive effect on me and my daily experience and I find you insightful and supportive.  I look forward to our sessions...  It's helped a lot!  Very happy...  Thank you for your help and support!"

"…I believe my first batch of sessions with you has successfully achieved its main goals: for me to discover my self-worth and to discover a new career path for me. Thank you so much.  Thank you for helping me in my recovery. I'm very pleased to know that I am enjoying peace and joy every day despite the challenges…, and that self-worth is no longer an issue for me YEY.  I am also seriously considering a change in career path, something you've helped me to see before…  …I know this will take time and lots of effort, but I'm happy that I have the passion for it… Again, thank you so much, Miranda…"

"…I would like to sincerely thank you for all your help, time and energy.  …You have helped me lift a huge weight from my mind, improved my perspectives and my thoughts and although there is still work to be done, I am extremely grateful for the changes and progress I have made thanks to you…  …I will fondly remember our conversations and revisit them in memory often to help progress further. I wish you all the very best in the future and I sincerely wish to rejoin your counselling for more positive progress in the future…

…My experience with LCC/ Miranda has been wonderful and truly helpful. Should I be able to return to this kind of development support in future, I'll will 100% be looking to work with Miranda/ LCC again!"

"...I am very satisfied, this is working for me."

"Your counselling has exceeded our expectations and each member of the family has got some personal guidance out the sessions...  We are much better equipped now...  Communication in both in Chinese & English was very effective and helpful.  We will consider Miranda's services in the future..."

"Felt understood and listened to... Was helped very much so by the counselling sessions.  ...over the weeks, I have managed to improve my mental health...  Felt understood... and also felt comfortable sharing my problems.  I was helped more than I could've ever expected and never thought I would be in as good of a place as I am in now thanks..."

"Miranda was open, keen to help... and was willing to ask questions to get to the root of my answers...  I can’t thank Miranda enough for her hard work, compassion and practical help in resolving the challenges that led me to seek counselling."

"Miranda delivered a programme tailored to my specific requirements.  When asked if I could change the topic of discussion due to a different concern in my life she adapted with ease.  The counselling given involved practical and small but impactful steps I could take to find balance.  Thank you."

"I'm really enjoying the sessions and feel very encouraged afterwards.  I wasn't too sure what to expect as I've never done this before but I'm learning so much more about myself that I thought I would...  I feel I am just at the start for my journey and I'm still learning ways in which to handle my problems/issues better but I can definitely see a difference."

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
