About me

HELLO & WELCOME!

I am Miranda Lo, MCouns, BSc (Psych) (Hons.), MBACP (registered with BACP), Psychotherapist, Life Coach, certified MAP Method™ Practitioner (USA), and certified Yoga Teacher (500-hour training and yoga for pregnancy).

ABOUT MY THERAPY PRACTICE: You are just feeling fed up with self-doubt and rumination; and you are worrying about your continual procrastination and your escape from opportunities in life.  You feel like you are finally ready to move forward.

I understand what it feels like when encountering emotional issues, worries and stress in life.  I embarked on a journey of self-exploration, which has allowed me to feel, see and find what I am passionate about in life.

Throughout these years of experience on working on the Self, I am dedicated and feeling grateful in collaboratively assisting YOU in overcoming your doubts and thus having YOUR potential unleashed FULLY, be it in your life journey, career development and relationships.

MY COUNSELLING APPROACH: I work with an Integrative Therapeutic and Coaching Approach to assist people in connecting deeper with their trueness alongside the ever-moving current of life, and to eventually find their ultimate meaning in life... Enjoy life to its fullness...

I will help you by guiding you how to first identify the thoughts that initiate the unpleasant feelings.  Since our natural state of comfort, health and happy mood lies in the optimal condition of our mental, emotional, social and physical Well-being; maintaining our peace of mind and getting in touch with our healthy sense of self allows us to navigate life with joy, love and compassion.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the effective ways to help dealing with feelings of anxiety, worry and depression.  CBT supports the fact that our thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations and the current events are interlinked to one another.  Therefore, to understand Yourself better can be the first step of cultivating self-awareness.

Besides CBT, I also offer Counselling with an Integrative Approach - drawing the benefits from various modalities to suit my clients.

I am inspired to journey the Path with YOU on Self-exploration and thus having YOUR potential unleashed.  Many years ago, I sought to have my potential in life unleashed.  I asked my teachers/mentors.  Years gone by, I noticed that this teacher/mentor has been within me, being with me.  Therefore, we are our own mentor whom actively assists in the process of unleashing the potential and well-being within us.

Hence, I feel grateful in collaboratively assisting YOU in revealing the teacher/mentor within Your Self, and thus having YOUR potential unleashed FULLY.  I look forward to serving YOU, ONLINE in Southside, Glasgow, UK.

MY EXPERIENCE & PRACTICE: Having worked in the commercial sector for many years, I understand what it feels like when encountering emotional issues and stress in life.  I embarked on a journey of self-exploration and yoga practice which has allowed me to feel, see and find my own potential, as well as what I am passionate about in life.

I am currently offering my practice via ONLINE in Southside, Glasgow, UK.  I offer a variety of counselling, therapy and life coaching sessions, as well as yoga course in ENGLISH, CANTONESE and MANDARIN.

I have worked with adults and couples with various concerns, including social anxiety, performance anxiety, self-esteem issues, finding self-identity and meaning in life (self-exploration), career guidance and vocational transformation, depression, bereavement, panic attack, anxiety, fixed core belief, nightmares, communication issues within relationship, self-harming, binge eating, issues of OC and Borderline Personality tendencies, long-term therapy support, dual diagnosis, alcohol and substance abuse, and anger management.

I participate in continual professional training regularly to keep my practice up-to-date in serving the various concerns of my clients.

HOW YOU WILL BENEFIT FROM MY SERVICES...  I work with an evidence-based & Integrative Therapeutic Approach - applying benefits from various modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Approach, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, etc, to cater for different concerns, be it stress, mood issues, grief, phobia, panic attack, esteem and/or relationship issues.  In my counselling and coaching sessions, I assist clients in unleashing their WELL-BEING and POTENTIAL, through a deeper Connection with their Trueness alongside the ever-moving current of life, and eventually Seeing their ultimate Meaning in Life, and thus Enjoying life to its fullness.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
