About us
We believe that with the appropriate support everyone has the potential to take steps that will improve their quality of life. We support people of West Essex affected by mental ill health, and the people around them, to take these steps. We aim to achieve this by providing a range of focused activities and opportunities. We are committed to finding ways of developing these activities in a way that makes them easy accessible and responsive to the needs of the local population.
There are many different styles of counselling available; the style chosen can have a significant impact on the successful outcome of your sessions and this is identified in the initial free session. We have therapist covering couples and individual therapy. We offer Life Management Skills which use CBT techniques to enable self support help. We offer a range of Mental Health First Aid training.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

This is a fee paying service but you will receive a free initial consultation with one of our experienced assessment team.
The costs for this service are:
Individual Counselling and Coaching: £45 for a 50 minute session (including telephone and video sessions)
Couples Counselling and Hypnotherapy: £60 for a 75 minute session
Life Management Skills: £45 for initial 90 minute session and £30 thereafter for each 30 minute session
Shorter Telephone Therapy: £24 for 30 minute sessioLow-cost Counselling: £15 per 50-minute session (this option is available only after a phone assessment by one of our clinical assessors to determine your suitability for this type of therapy)
