About us

Mind Monmouthshire is a trusted independent specialist mental health charity which was formed over 40 years. We have grown into an organisation which provides a point of contact, information, and a wide range of services for people experiencing poor mental health across the whole county of Monmouthshire. Mind Monmouthshire endeavour to put the needs of the people who use our services at the heart of everything we do.

We have been providing a high quality, professional and confidential counselling service to people in Monmouthshire since 2016. We offer a wide range of counselling approaches which we change and adapt to suit a person’s individual needs to adults over the age of 18. These approaches are evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Integrative and Person-Centred Counselling.

Nick Price (Lead Counsellor) has led our counselling service since its start in 2016 and is a qualified CBT Psychotherapist and fully accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counselling can be a scary process; our counsellors are skilled at helping you relax so you can talk about the problems you are having at the moment. We will offer you a safe, warm and non-judgemental space to explore the problems you are facing and ways to help you move forward away from these problems.

We have found some of the most common questions people ask us are:

Why am I feeling like this?         What is wrong with me?   How can I change?

How can I get better?               Can you help me?

Are these some of the questions on your mind?

Training, qualifications & experience

Our counselling team come from a variety of backgrounds with a wide range of experience, knowledge and qualifications, and are at different stages of their counselling careers.

Within our team we can offer you a wide range of different counselling styles to help you get back on track as soon as possible and away from any emotional distress you have been feeling.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
