Mike Tivey (RegMBACP) - Talk2tivey counselling & clinical Supervision
I strongly believe counselling supports people to be happy, positive and able to make a new start. I appreciate that making the initial contact with a therapist can be a daunting experience, so please look through my website and if you feel that I might be able to help you, please call me. All enquiries will be answered and treated with confidentiality. No matter your background or beliefs I have the skills, compassion experience to help
Counselling uses listening and talking based techniques to deal with a range of issues problems and concerns around change. In contrast to many medical approaches, the therapies offered, do not involve medication or other physical interventions and may be concerned not only with mental well being but with spiritual, philosophical, social and other aspects of living. Counselling sessions are private and confidential so enabling you to talk through your worries and problems in a safe non-judgemental environment.

Walk & Talk Sessions
If sitting is not for you, then how about a walk and talk, open air and green space. Counselling while walking and talking outside, is offered as an alternative to the traditional therapy room setting.
The purpose is to offer an outdoor space for you to explore any issues or problems that have been bothering you in a natural outdoor environment and while taking in the fresh air and giving your body the daily exercise it requires.
We will walk at a pace which suits you. Walking can increase oxygen to the brain which in turn helps to produce endorphins and gives us a feeling of being okay with the world.
Our initial consultation will take place in a counselling room, via skype or telephone. We will discuss your preferences such as meeting place, management of time, the weather and the pace etc.
